Feature Story Response

The person I decided to interview was a long time friend by the name of Rameen Siddiqui. She answered the last questions I posted here accordingly:

"My name is Rameen Siddiqui

My role model has always been my Dada (grandpa). He was the most intelligent, bighearted, independent, and loving person I’ve ever came across. 

For me personally, feeling beautiful is loving yourself to your fullest extent. Don’t worry about what other people have to say about you or judge how you look, just love yourself and you’ll always feel beautiful. 

To me body positivity means feeling good about your body regardless of what body type people expect from you. Every human in any shape or form is beautiful whether others agree or not. 

What are you gaining from lacking self-confidence? Depression? insecurity? Not loving yourself? Is that really going to help you prosper in life? Stop sitting around stressing about how your body is shaped because it’s not picture perfect and no one will like you. Until you don’t love yourself and feel good about the body shape you have you will not gain self-confidence and people’s comments will continue to get to you."

Who my feature story is about ..

So as I said in my previous blog post.. I will be revealing who my feature story will be on. My feature story will be on a close friend of mine, who happens to be arab and she is very proud of her culture as well as proud of the individual she is today. She is not afraid to say what she has to say and embraces that all women should feel beautiful in their own skin. She also, does makeup and promotes self care and is an overall beautiful human being.

Details on My feature Story

Being that, my magazine is ultimately about body positivity and embracing what is different. My plan is to interview an individual which I hold deeply to my heart that happens to be someone that is extremely diverse and lives her life to the absolute fullest. She not only had to go through struggles of having to overcome insecurities and differences with not only who she is but how she does not care what others think. In my next blog post I will reveal who my feature story will be on.

Elements of a Feature Story

Feature writing tells the reader a story, which ultimately is my final goal. The feature story starts with a lead, kinda like a hook which it's intention is to  grab the reader's attention and hook them into reading the story. It is followed by a summary of what the story is going to be about in short words. Then directly after is a direct quote that is either given by what the feature story is about for example, a celebrity or influencer. A feature story is always given in magazines and individuals usually pick up a magazine because they want to only know that story, but it is your job to make them interested about everything else that is also included within the magazine.
