Masthead Process

For my masthead, I obviously wanted something that fit my overlook and aesthetic. I wanted a simple font that would look cute as well as be easy to read.  I ended up choosing pink as the color being that it went with my mood board as well as the colors that are in the final picture for the cover.

Women In the Media

Women are often misinterpreted in the media. A women is always to come second to a man As there are differences in how woman are treated than men for example, women can be portrayed to be just sexual object for a man and are sexualised throughly in the media. Women are more than just objects, they are CEOs, mothers, nurturers, they own businesses and get the job done. They say behind every good man there’s an even better women. Women should have the recognition they deserve, they shouldn’t always be just a man’s sidekick because they mean more than that.

Hypodermic Needle

This theory in particular believes and holds that idea that we are all the same and respond to media and information in the same way. In a way it views society as being weak and that we ultimately believe everything the media has to say, without persuasion. It helps in the magazine aspect being that , it gives me that extra boost of confidence that media may ultimately be a good way to persuade individuals to speak onto certain topics and open new ideas and conversations.

Agenda Setting Function Theory

This theory in particular, explains that the media can influence individuals on what they think and not on how they think. It's kinda painting a picture and drawing an individual in by showing them a beautiful piece of work and then them leading to think of the meaning behind it. Kind of like forcing an individual to judge a book by its cover. Showing that if you portray a good image, you are likely to draw in more individuals to pick up your magazine.

Two Step Flow Theory

The two step flow theory explains how individuals ultimately have a bigger impact on society when voicing their opinions, ultimately influencing others. It's one voice on a particular subject leading to others to either disagree or agree with the information at hand. For example, celebrities giving their take on a subject via twitter, Instagram or any other social media platform and having individuals believe or hold that same idea. It can sometimes hold that idea that the more popular the voice is, that is saying their opinion, the more influence and appraisal this individual will have overall.
